Track Lighting Parts

Track Lighting Parts | One of the things you often hear LED lights, is the fact that their beam angle is narrower as opposed to old fashion incandescent lights, or perhaps as opposed to newer CFLs.

What performs this mean and is it a problem?

The beam angle will be the angle at which light is directed from the light bulb. So a tiny angle of 20 degrees will be suitable for a place light, focusing light on one small area. If you want more general lighting, spreading light over the whole room, a greater angle of perhaps 90 degrees will be preferred. In most domestic lighting situations beam angles of 30-45 degrees are sufficient to light an area comfortably.

The proven fact that LEDs have narrow beam angles stems from the older technology LEDs which were indeed created for focused light in a very narrow area. Today this can be will no longer true. New technology now ensures that LED lights are available in a very wide array of beam angles, from narrow spotlights to wider general lighting. Some LEDS are available in a very array of beam angles from 15, 30, 40, 45, 60, 90, to 120 degrees. What this means is the fact that there is a large amount of choice in the marketplace, sometimes so much choice which it gets confusing for the buyer. You can will no longer just grab a light bulb from the supermarket shelf. There are decisions to get made!
